Swedish cinnamon rolls

What you need:

§ 150g butter

§ 500ml milk

§ 50g yeast

§ 150g sugar

§ 1 tsp salt

§ 1 tsp cardamom, ground

§ 1000g wheat flour

§ 75g butter

§ 100g sugar

§ 1 tablespoon cinnamon

§ 1 egg

§ Decorating sugar

Approach:

Heat the milk to 37 °C and dissolve the yeast in it. Stir in sugar, salt, cardamom and almost all the flour. Knead the dough until smooth, cover with a cloth and let it rise for about 30 - 40 minutes.

Add the melted butter and knead the dough on a mealy work surface, dividing it into three parts. Roll out a thin rectangular surface on each piece and spread with room-warm, soft butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle the dough thickly with it. Roll into a roll and cut into slices of about 4 cm. Place the pieces on the baking tray. Allow the dough to rise once more. It will be about twice as big in 30 minutes.

Brush the cinnamon rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar. Bake on the middle shelf in a preheated oven at 250 - 275 °C for about 5 - 8 minutes.



These cinnamon rolls are a perfect party snack because they are fast and easy to make!
